Dharma Guardian Exercise 2022
Exercise Dharma Guardian is an Indo-Japan Joint annual military training event that started off in 2018. The exercise takes place between the armies of both countries. This exercise with Japan is significant and crucial in the matters of security challenges that are faced by both nations in the backdrop of the current global situation. Dharma Guardian exercise covers platoon-level joint operations training focuses on operations in Jungle, semi-urban and urban environments and forests.
Ex Dharma Guardian 2022
The third edition of the joint military exercise “EX DHARMA GUARDIAN-2022” started from 27 February to 10 March 2022, at Belagavi (Belgaum), Karnataka.
- The 15th Battalion the Maratha Light Infantry Regiment of the Indian Army and 30th Infantry Regiment of Japanese Ground Self Defence Forces (JGSDF) are participating in this 12 days long joint exercise.
- On the 8th and 9th of March 2022, a two-day validation exercise will be conducted which will complete the joint combat discussions, joint field training exercises, and joint demonstrations.
- Special emphasis will be given to enhancing the tactical skills required to fight global terrorism and on enhancing the two forces’ interoperability. The Dharma Guardian 2018 & 2019 took place between Indian and Japanese Armies in Noveber 2018 & October 2019 respectively at Vairengte, Mizoram.
