IBPS Clerk 2023: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (As on 21.07.2023)

Graduation Degree from a University Recognized by the Government of India. 

Candidates should have a valid Mark-sheet / Degree: Certificate which supports that they are graduates on the day they were registered for the exam. The percentage of marks obtained in Graduation should be mentioned at the time of registration for the IBPS Bank-Clerk examination.

Computer Literacy: Knowledge of computer operation is a must as the IBPS Clerk exam is conducted online.

Language Proficiency: Candidates should have verbal and written proficiency in the official language of the State/UT. The candidate should be able to read, write and speak the language

The category-wise fee structure for IBPS Clerk online application is given below. Fee/Intimation charges once paid will not be refunded on any account nor can they be held in reserve for any other examination or selection. The application fee must be paid online itself. IBPS Clerk 2023: Prelims & Mains Exam will be conducted in 13 regional languages along with English & Hindi (As per the Press Release issued by the Ministry of Finance on 30th September 2021).

The IBPS Clerk exam 2023 will be in two parts: Preliminary and Mains.

IBPS CLERK PRE-EXAM PATTERN

The IBPS Clerk preliminary examination is of a one-hour duration and is conducted online. It has 3 sections that will have 100 questions in total with a maximum score of 100 marks. There is a negative marking in the IBPS Clerk Pre exam as 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. The section-wise details are given below:

IBPS CLERK 2023 MAINS EXAM PATTERN

Once the IBPS pre exam result 2023 is declared. The IBPS Clerk mains exam 2023 will also be held online tentatively within one month. IBPS Clerk Mains comprises of 4 sections of 190 Questions having a total score of 200 marks which has to be completed in 160 minutes duration.  

The candidates must attempt the sections in the same order and within the allotted time fixed by the examining body. The candidate can’t leave the existing section before the time allotted. The next section can only be attempted after the current section is completed. There is a negative marking with a deduction of 0.25 marks for every mistake.

Penalty for Wrong Answers:
A penalty for every incorrect answer will be marked in the Objective Tests of both Preliminary and Mains exams. Every wrong answer will be penalized by deducting 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question. There will be no penalty for leaving a question blank, i.e. in case, no answer is marked by the candidate.

IBPS Clerk 2023 Interview

IBPS Clerk 2023 Exam is not having any interview phase, therefore, the final selection is done on the basis of marks obtained by the aspirants in their IBPS Clerk Mains Exam. Therefore, IBPS Clerk Mains is a challenging phase which makes it mandatory for the aspirants to score well in Mains to grab a good position in the Final Merit list of the IBPS Clerk 2023 Exam.

IBPS Clerk exam syllabus is similar to other bank exams except that IBPS issues only the broad subjects, they can be further bifurcated into individual topics, based on the questions that have appeared in the exams over the past few years. The IBPS Clerk syllabus is divided into two parts:

The Nodal Banks/ Participating Organizations may organize pre-examination training for SC/ST/Religious Minority Community candidates at certain centers as per the strategy issued by the Government of India. IBPS Clerk pre-exam preparation is a kind of training session where candidates are acquainted with the type of questions, common mistakes, tips for time management, best practices, basic tricks, and approaches by experts from training organizations. The purpose of IBPS Clerk pre-exam training 2023 is to give a level playing field to students from weaker sections that can’t afford the coaching and make them aware of the general facet and recruitment procedure of the exam.

Candidates belonging to the above-mentioned categories can undergo IBPS Clerk training by signifying the same against a relevant column, at the time of applying online. 

The IBPS Clerk pre-exam training is free of cost with other expenses like travel, food, and lodging expenses incurred by the candidate. The Candidates who opt for IBPS Clerk pre-examination training should download their call letter for training by entering their registration number and password/ date of birth from the Bank’s website.
