11. In which year is the average of the number of companies registered the maximum?

(a) 2018

(b) 2016

(c) 2020

(d) 2021

(e) 2022

Solution: (b)

In 2015, the average number of companies registered =  \(\displaystyle \frac{{\left( {5+10+15+35} \right)\times 1000}}{4}=\frac{{65000}}{4}\) = 16250

In 2016, the average number of companies registered =  \(\displaystyle \frac{{\left( {10+25+30+35} \right)\times 1000}}{4}\) = 25000

In 2017, the average number of companies registered = \(\displaystyle \frac{{\left( {5+10+15+20} \right)\times 1000}}{4}\)  = 12500

In 2018, the average number of companies registered = \(\displaystyle \frac{{\left( {30+25+20+15} \right)\times 1000}}{4}\)  = 22500

In 2019, the average number of companies registered = \(\displaystyle \frac{{\left( {5+20+25+35} \right)\times 1000}}{4}\) = 21250

In 2020, the average number of companies registered = \(\displaystyle \frac{{\left( {10+20+25+30} \right)\times 1000}}{4}\) = 21250

In 2021, the average number of companies registered = \(\displaystyle \frac{{\left( {5+15+25+35} \right)\times 1000}}{4}\) = 20000

In 2022, the average number of companies registered = \(\displaystyle \frac{{\left( {10+15+30+35} \right)\times 1000}}{4}\) = 22500

Hence, in 2016, the average number of companies registered was the maximum

(d) 38.46%

(e) 18%

Solution: (d)

Number of companies registered in 2022 = (15 + 10 + 35 + 30) \(\displaystyle \times \) 1000 = 90 \(\displaystyle \times \) 1000 = 90000.

Number of companies registered in 2015 = (5 + 15 + 10 + 35) \(\displaystyle \times \) 1000 = 65 \(\displaystyle \times \) 1000 = 65000

Therefore required % =  \(\displaystyle \frac{{90000-65000}}{{65000}}\times 100\) = 38.46%

Hence, number of companies registered in 2022 is 38.46% more than 2015.

Number of companies registered in Tamil Nadu during 2015 to 2022,  = (10 + 35 + 10 + 25 + 20 + 30 + 35 + 35) \(\displaystyle \times \) 1000 = 200000

Number of companies registered in West Bengal during 2015 to 2022, = (35 + 30 + 15 + 30 + 35 + 25 + 5 + 30) \(\displaystyle \times \) 1000 = 205000

Average number of companies registered in Karnataka = \(\displaystyle \frac{{\left( {5+10+5+20+5+20+25+15} \right)\times 1000}}{8}=\frac{{105000}}{8}\) = 13125

Average number of companies registered in Tamil Nadu = \(\displaystyle \frac{{\left( {10+35+10+25+20+30+35+35} \right)\times 1000}}{8}\) = 25000
