Police SI Constable Eligibility Criteria
TS Police Recruitment lays down the eligibility for several different posts. This criterion remains the same throughout the years with some minor changes. Aspirants should check the detailed notification and check their Age relaxations against the category he or she falls as on 01 Jul 2022.
Sub Inspector Age limit
Must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years as on 1st July, 2022 i.e., must have been born not earlier than 2nd July, 1997 and not later than 1st July 2001.
However, the Government of Telangana vide GO Ms No. 48, General Administration (Services A) Department dated 13-04-2022 have raised the upper age limit prescribed for direct recruitment by 3 (three years) for uniformed services including Police, Fire Services, Prisons and Special Protection Force Departments. This relaxation is in addition to the upper age limit as mentioned above

TS Police Constable Age Limit

Sub Inspector Educational Qualification:
Candidates applying for SI post should possess a Degree awarded by any University in India, established or incorporated by or under a Central Act, Provisional Act of State or of any institution recognized by the University Grants Commission or any other equivalent qualification as on 01 Jul 2022.
Provided that, Degree or Provisional Certificate or Consolidated Marks Memo of the whole duration of the study which proves the qualification, shall be made available by the Candidate at the time of certificate verification to prove his / her qualification issued by the
University on or before 1st July 2022. If any candidate fails to produce the required pass certificate as above on the designated day, then it shall be deemed that he / she does not possess the required qualification and such candidature shall not be taken forward. Any certificates produced after the last date of Certificate Verification shall not be taken into consideration.
Distance Education: Candidates who have obtained Degree through Open Universities / Distance Education mode are required to have recognition by the University Grants Commission / AICTE / Distance Education Council, as the case may be. Unless such Degrees had been recognized by the relevant Statutory Authority, they will not be accepted for the purpose of Educational Qualification. The onus of proof of recognition by the relevant Statutory Authority that their Degrees / Universities have been recognized rests with the Candidate
Note:- Candidates who possess higher qualification than the prescribed one will also be considered on par with the Candidates who possess the prescribed qualification.
TS Police Constable Educational Qualification
Must have passed Intermediate or its equivalent examination recognized by the State Government as on 1st July 2022. Provided that, Intermediate Pass Certificate cum Memorandum of Marks or any equivalent pass Certificate which proves the qualification shall be made available by the Candidate at the time of certificate verification to prove his / her qualification on or before 1st July 2022. If any Candidate fails to produce the required pass certificate as above on the designated day, then it shall be deemed that he / she does not possess required qualification and such candidature shall not be taken forward. Any certificates produced after the last date of Certificate Verification shall not be taken into consideration.
Note: Candidates who possess higher qualification than the prescribed one will also be considered on par with the Candidates who possess the prescribed qualification.

The Prelims Exam contains only two subjects.
They are Arithmetic Ability and Test of Reasoning, General Studies.
The Written Exam consists of Objective Type Questions.
Each subject carries 100 questions for 100 marks.
Total of 200 questions for 200 marks.
Time Limit for Written Exam is 3hrs.

The Telangana Police Mains Written Exam contains 4 Papers.
Paper I and Paper II are having Objective Type Questions/ Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s).
Paper III and Paper IV consist of Descriptive Type Questions.
Arithmetic Ability and Test of Reasoning, General Studies, English, and Telugu/ Urdu are the 4 papers.
200 questions are given for each paper (Paper I and Paper II only).
3 hrs Time allowed to complete the Written Exam.
Note:-
1) The minimum mark to be secured by the Candidates in order to qualify in the Preliminary Written Test is 40% for OCs, 35% for BCs and 30% for SCs / STs / Ex-Servicemen
2) Questions in the Paper will be objective in nature and will be set in English, Telugu and Urdu languages. Candidates have to answer the questions on an OMR answer sheet using Blue / Black Ball Point Pen only. For this purpose, Candidates should bring their own Blue / Black Ball Point Pens along with them
SI Constable Exam Syllabus
Aspirants have to study the following syllabus to compete in Prelims and Mains exams.
ENGLISH (OBJECTIVE TYPE).
Questions of the standard of SSC / Matriculation seeking to ascertain the Candidate’s knowledge of Usage, Vocabulary, Grammar, Comprehension and other language skills will be asked for in the Objective Format
TELUGU / URDU (OBJECTIVE TYPE)
Candidates have to choose one of the languages i.e., either Telugu or Urdu, and should indicate their choice as and when asked for by the recruiting authority. The option once exercised will be final and a candidate will not be allowed to change it subsequently
Qualifying Paper in Telugu or Urdu will be of Matriculation or equivalent standard. Questions of the standard of SSC/Matriculation seeking to ascertain the Candidate’s knowledge of Usage, Vocabulary, Grammar, Comprehension, and other language skills will be asked for in the Objective.
ARITHMETIC & TEST OF REASONING / MENTAL ABILITY (OBJECTIVE TYPE)
Arithmetic: It will include questions on problems relating to the number system, simple interest, compound interest, ratio & proportion, average, percentage, profit & loss, time & work, work & wages, time & distance, clocks & calendars, partnership, menstruation etc
Test of Reasoning: It will include questions of both verbal & non-verbal type and include the question on analogies, similarities, and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory etc
GENERAL STUDIES (OBJECTIVE TYPE)
- General Science – contemporary developments in science and technology and their implications including matters of everyday observation and experience, contemporary issues relating to the protection of the environment as may be expected of a well-educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific discipline
- Current Affairs. – Current events of national and international importance
- History of India – emphasis will be on the broad general understanding of the subject in its social, economic, cultural, and political aspects. Indian National Movement
- Geography of India
- Indian Polity and Economy – including the Country’s political system, rural development, planning, and economic reforms in India
- Personality test – Questions will be from Ethics, Sensitivity to Gender and weaker sections, social awareness, Emotional Intelligence
- Telangana Movement and State Formation – The idea of Telangana (1948-1970), Mobilization phase (1971-1990), towards the formation of Telangana State (1991-2014)
TS SI Constable Medical Standards

ii. Each eye must have a full field of vision
iii. Colour blindness, squint or any morbid condition of the eye or lids of either eye shall be deemed to be a disqualification
iv. Candidate should possess sound health and be free from any bodily defect or infirmity which will render him unfit for the Posts notified
v. Candidates who have the following ailments or defects will not be considered for TS SI Constable recruitment to any Post specified in this rule
- Physically Handicapped
- Knocking-Knees, Pigeon Chest, Flat Foot, Vericose Veins, Hammer-Toes, Fractured Limbs, Decayed Teeth, Stammering, Hard of Hearing and Abnormal Psychological Behavior
Note:- In order to avert getting disappointed at a later stage, Candidates are advised to have themselves examined by a Civil Surgeon before applying for the examination to ensure that they meet the prescribed Physical and Medical Standards.
Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Written Test have to undergo Physical Measurements Test and should meet the following requirements

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates who qualify in the Physical Measurements Test will be required to undergo the following tests and qualify as specified below –
i) Men: Candidates must qualify in any 3 (three) events out of the 5 (five) events of the Physical Efficiency Test as detailed below, while qualifying in 800 metres run is a must for all of them, i.e., 800 metres run should be one of the 3 (three) or more events that they qualify in.
