Quantitative Aptitude (QA) is the most important area and most time-consuming section in CGL exam.  If we speak in terms of the weightage, it carries in the written exam, in Prelims its 50/200 and 200/400 in Mains making it 250/600, which is approximately 42% of the marks. Therefore, knowing about the SSC CGL Maths preparation strategy is quite important. 

1) Candidates should have a clear understanding of every concept properly and at the same time they have learn short tricks to save time in exams. 

2) Work more on the basics and learn the short cut methods to increase the calculation speed, for better time management. 

3) Maths syllabus CGL exams can be divided into Arithmetic, Data Interpretation & Advanced Maths. Begin with topics like Number system, Simplifications, ratio and proportion, averages, HCF & LCM, percentage; profit and loss; speed, distance and time; boat and stream questions; data interpretation, etc.

2. While this section remains on the simpler side to solve, candidates must read the questions properly and then apply logics, to avoid silly mistakes. 
3. In case, if any problem ends up in taking too much time than expected, than it’s better if you should switch to the next question instead of losing time. Do not waste your precious time solving one question. If time permits, then come back and solve that leftover question. 
4. Solve the SSC CGL Practice Set of past few years’ papers as much as possible. While practicing, you should aim at attempting at least 15-20 questions in 20 minutes with accuracy. 
5. Take out time in you study plan to Practice DI and Reasoning questions every day. 
6. Certain topics like figure-based questions, venn diagrams, analogy, coding-decoding, series, are very easy to solve and also particularly high scoring. 1)This section mostly consists of more questions from Static GK than current affairs. Thus, focus on static GK part, question may be asked on GK questions related to current events. 

2) As per the current trends the areas in which more questions are asked are given below. Prepare the subjects in order to score well.

3) Go through the miscellaneous topics which include, Economic Survey, Important Authors and Writers, Oscar Winners, State Animals and Symbols, Union Budget, Demonetization, famous seaports & airports and their location, etc. Make notes and mind maps to remember facts, a chronology of historical events, and dates.

4) Read NCERT textbooks pertaining to Class 7 to 10 for Science, Social Science, along with these you should refer Class 11 and 12 for Geography and History subject.

5) Try attempting at least 50 mocks/quizzes of GA every day and check your accuracy and time. You should be in a position to solve the questions not taking more than 20 minutes.

English Language Preparation Strategy for SSC CGL Exam Tier I

English section is very important for SSC CGL exam, so this section cannot be ignored. English preparation in SSC CGL Tier 1 revolves around three key aspects like grammar, vocabulary and comprehension. If you have good grip on these areas then this section is a smooth sail. 

1. First and foremost inculcate a habit of reading news paper daily and especially the editorial section. List down some new words from the newspaper and derive synonyms and antonyms for those words.
